Active members are entitled to all SAANYS services and benefits, including:
- Complete legal and negotiations services.
- Noncontributory $10,000 term life insurance policy.
- Optional additional contributory life insurance plans.
- Opportunity to combine state and NAESP/NASSP membership enrollment.

Associate members are entitled to all SAANYS publications, discount benefits, professional development programs, and national affiliate options (excludes legal services).
Categories:
- Professional - Individuals employed outside school districts and BOCES who have an interest in SAANYS' publications.
- Student/Graduate - Educators currently involved in a recognized school administration preparation program.
- Business/Library - Business or libraries that wish to maintain copies of all SAANYS publications.
Retired Active (Must join directly from a Regular Active Membership.)
- Legal Services (including representation for postretirement administrative employment).
- Legislative representation.
- Free basic $10,000 life insurance for life (reductions at ages 65 and 70).
- Tier 2 life insurance coverage (if carried prior to retirement).
- Insurance programs at SAANYS group rates (eligibility varies by program).
- NASSP & NAESP memberships at reduced rates.
- All publications.

- Regional retirement activities.
- Voucher for membership in New York State Retired Teachers Association.
Retired Affiliate (Must join directly from a Regular Active or Retired Active Membership.)
